Features of Recruitment


The following are some of the most important features of recruitment: 

1. Recruitment is a function of locating and recruiting applicants:  It is primarily concerned with finding and enticing potential candidates to an organisation. 


2. Recruitment is not the same as selection: Recruitment entails locating potential applicants and drawing them to the business in order for them to apply for a position. However, selection entails selecting the best candidate from among those who have applied for the job.


3. It is a process: Recruiting is a set of actions that include things like recruitment policy, sources of recruitment, how to tap those sources, and how to evaluate those sources, among other things.


4. It is a connecting activity: Recruitment brings individuals who have a job (employer) and those who are looking for a job together (employees).


5. It is a widespread function: All firms that use human resources must execute this job.


6. It is an important function of personnel management: It is an important function of personnel management since it aids in the acquisition of various numbers and types of people for an organization's continuing operation.
