Intrepreneur and its Types


Concept of Intrepreneurship came in fore-font in late 80’s. Corporate Entrepreneurship is also called Intrepreneurship. Intrepreneurship is the practice of using entrepreneurial skills without taking on the risks or accountability associated with entrepreneurial activities. It is practiced by employees within an established organization using a systemized business model. Employees, perhaps engaged in a special project within a larger firm are supposed to behave as entrepreneurs, even though they have the resources and capabilities of the larger firm to draw upon. Capturing the dynamic nature of entrepreneurial management (trying things until successful, learning from failures, attempting to conserve resources, etc.) adds to the potential of otherwise static organizations without exposing those employees or self employed people to the risks or accountability normally associated with entrepreneurial failure.

Though corporate managers involve some venture of some ideas. There is no personal risks, no assumption of loss. Consequently they seldom reap rewards beyond the business and percentage of profits. The Intrepreneur are such like corporate commanders. They make things happens creating new commercial success. In spite of strongly corporate and creative decision making.

Types of Intreprenurs:

The Intrepreneur can be classified as

1. Employee Intrepreneur
2. Self Employed Intrepreneur

1. Employee Intrepreneur: An employee Intrepreneur is the person who focuses on innovation and creativity and who transforms a dream or an idea into a profitable venture, by operating within the organizational environment. Thus, Intrepreneurs are inside entrepreneurs who follow the goal of the organization.

2. Self Employed Intrepreneur: A self-employed Intrepreneur is the person who builds a business based on a business format or system sold by another company. They operate within set policies and procedures. This business offers a low risk alternative to creating your own business. Self-employed Intrapreneurs are estimated to be the majority of people investigating business opportunities as few people have the acceptance of risk necessary to be an entrepreneur
